This past Sunday I had the exciting opportunity of participating in the West Elm Dadeland’s Blogger Brunch to celebrate the West Elm + Kate Spade Saturday Collaboration. You can only imagine how excited I was when I received the invitation. I am a huge fan of West Elm and as soon as their collaboration with Kate Spade Saturday was announced, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on some of their items. 

The event was wonderful! Lauren Michelle Barranco and Jackie Roque did an amazing job hosting the event. It was great meeting other bloggers who share similar interests. The store looked amazing. It felt as if I had walked into a garden. The Kate Spade Saturday section was truly an explosion of color and prints. You have to stop by and check out the collection.

My favorite piece from the collection is West Elm’s Anders Chair in the Kate Spade Saturday Floral Print I love that they took a classic silhouette and upholstered in such a fun print. It is not only a great piece to freshen up a space for spring, but also one that will add personality to your space all year long. I did not have the space to take home the chair that day, so I ended up taking home the Kate Spade Saturday Splatter Pillow Cover in Light Pool The great thing about this cover is that you can flip it and instantly have a different pillow.

El domingo pasado tuve la gran oportunidad de participar en el West Elm Dadeland Blogger Brunch como parte de su celebración de la colaboración West Elm + Kate Spade Saturday. Se pueden imaginar lo emocionada que estaba cuando recibí la invitación. Me encanta West Elm y tan pronto como se anunció su colaboración con Kate Spade Saturday, no podía esperar para adquirir algunas de las piezas.

El evento fue maravilloso! Lauren Michelle Barranco y Jackie Roque hicieron un excelente trabajo como anfitrionas del evento . Fue genial el conocer a otras bloggers que comparten intereses similares. La tienda lucia increíble. Se sentía como si hubiera entrado en un jardín. La sección de Kate Spade Saturday es realmente una explosión de color y estampados. Tienen que pasar por West Elm y ver la colección. 

Mi pieza favorita de la colección es la silla Anders de West Elm en el estampado floral de Kate Spade Saturday. Me encanta que tomaron una silueta clásica y la tapizaron en un estampado tan divertido. No es sólo una gran pieza para refrescar un espacio en la primavera, sino que también una que agregará personalidad a cualquier espacio durante todo el año  Yo no tuve el espacio para llevarme a casa esta silla,  así que terminé llevándome la Almohada Kate Spade Saturday de estampado que simula pintura salpicada. Esta almohada decorativa es perfecta porque con tan solo voltearla tendrás un estampado de diferente color.

Trying to find something to battle Miami's bipolar weather is hard but I try my best. This skirt is so chic and I have wore it a few times with different elements. I love it with flats, I love it with booties and with heels. It gives such a beautiful and delicate touch to any outfit.

Having short hair means a lot of work. Every time I cut it I always have to either use the curly iron or blow dry it, the problem is I live in Miami and once I step out the door the weather takes control so basically I waste my time brushing it and everything lol. There are days when I just do not want to do anything to it, most days actually and still humidity takes control so I cannot control it either. 

Having a hat is always a good option, even though I love my natural hair with this weather is hard to control. I have lots of frizz and it does not matter which product I use because they do  not work, mostly because I have very oily hair and most anti-frizz products are oily. I try to go with the flow and well adding a hat is fun and safe if you do not want your hair to look too crazy.

Tener el cabello corto significa pasar mucho trabajo. Cada vez que lo corto tengo que usar secador o plancha y la verdad que eso no me gusta, el problema es que vivo en Miami y una vez que pongo un pie fuera de la puerta el clima se apodera de todo el trabajo que pase arreglandome jajaja. Hay días en que simplemente no le presto atención y no le hago nada, casi todos los días e igual la humedad se apodera y tampoco puedo controlarlo. Tener un sombrero siempre es buena opción aunque me encanta mi cabello natural  este clima es dificil de controlar, sufro mucho de frizz y no importa que producto use porque no funciona. También mi cabello es grasoso y la mayoría de los productos anti-frizz son aceitosos. Trato de ir con el flow y agregar un sombrero para aunque sea controlar un poco el cabello.

I took a last minute trip to Puerto Rico. If you didn't know, I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. My entire family lives there. My visit has been bittersweet because I'm visiting my family and meeting my nephew for the first time, which is exciting, and at the same time, I am also a bit sad because my grandfather is not doing well.  Nevertheless I am thankful to be able to spend time with all of them.

I wanted to share some snapshots of what I love the most; driving up to the family farm every morning. I grew up surrounded by nature and developed a passion for cultivating the land in the most pure and organic way. This is why every time that I come home I make it a point to visit the farm daily and help out as much as I can. We have oxes  that are like our pets and help us by drafting objects. My father and brother grow organic squash, beans of all kind, cilantro, tomatoes, plantains, etc.  It is a humble lifestyle full of love for all things. I can truly say that nature is powerful and in many ways healing. 

Decidí viajar a Puerto Rico a ultimo momento. Si no sabían, nací y crecí en Puerto Rico. Toda mi familia vive allá. Mi visita esta vez ha estado llena de muchas emociones porque vine a conocer a mi sobrino y a estar con mi familia, pero también a visitar a mi abuelito que esta bastante enfermo. De todas maneras me siento afortunada de poder compartir con todos. 

Quería compartir algunas fotos de nuestra vida en la finca. Tenemos una finca familiar y es una de las cosas que mas añoro. Desde pequeña aprendí a cultivar y a trabajar en familia. Siempre que visitó aprovecho todas las mañanas y voy a la finca. Tenemos bueyes que nos ayudan a remolcar. Mi papa y hermano cultivan de manera orgánica, habichuelas de todas clases, calabaza, cilantro, tomates, plátanos, etc. Es un estilo de vida muy humilde, lleno de mucho amor y aprecio por todas las cosas que son importantes. Para mi la naturaleza tiene de cierta manera un poder de sanación.

Wearing heels everyday can be very tiring and to be honest I get tired as soon as I wear them. I got these super cute oxfords while I get ready for Spring: my favorite season. This look is super cute and comfy for a busy day. The weather has been a little bipolar lately so I try to take a sweater with me but at the same time I try to wear an outfit that works with humidity.

Usar tacones a diario es demasiado canson y para ser honesta yo me canso apenas me los pongo. Me compré estos oxford pastel super cute mientras me preparo para la primavera, mi temporada favorita. Este look es perfecto para un día ocupado, mientras el clima esta súper bipolar. Trato de llevar un sweater y al mismo tiempo usar algo que vaya con el calor.

I think it is important to always have at least one day during the week to take time to breath and let all the stress and worries go away. I love that Miami has a lot of these places to breath a little air and enjoy breathtaking views.

Many people make it a New Year’s resolution to get more organized. There are many solutions out there to stay organized.  An important step towards achieving this is to make a list of what it is that you want to organize. I wanted to organize my jewelry, and after receiving some great jewelry holders this past Christmas, I knew right away that it was the first thing that I wanted to do to kick off the year. 

If you tend to leave jewelry laying around the house, or simply want to organize your jewelry, here are some great items for you to purchase:

1. A jewelry dish – I keep mine at my desk as I normally tend to take off my earring and rings and leave them laying around there.  

2. A small jewelry/display box – I love small decorative boxes because they serve as storage and as beautiful displays, which can be incorporated into your home décor. This one is from West Elm. To find more jewelry/display boxes visit: West Elm. I like to keep small jewelry boxes like this one in entrance table.  It allows me to place items like my watch there, which makes it convenient. 

3. A large jewelry organizer/box – This large box is also from West Elm. I love the metallic details. The great thing about large boxes like this one is that they allow you to keep different types of pieces organized, plus their velvet interiors will most certainly protect them for many, many years to come. More importantly, if you are looking for a jewelry box that you can lock, this one is a great choice. 

Muchas personas se proponen el ser mas organizados como resolución de año nuevo. Existen muchas maneras y productos que nos ayudan a ser mas organizados. Lo importante es saber qué es lo que realmente se necesita organizar. Para mí, el organizar mis prendas era necesario. Luego de haber recibido organizadores de joyería como regalos de navidad decidí que quería compartirlos con ustedes y comenzar el año organizando todas mis piezas. 

Si tiendes a dejar tus prendas en diferentes lugares o si deseas organizarlas, aquí les muestro algunas maneras y piezas que pueden adquirir: 

1- Un plato para joyería  – Estos pequeños platos para joyería son perfectos para escritorios y para color tus anillos o aretes tan pronto te los quitas. 

2- Una caja pequeña para joyería -  Si estas buscando algo que no ocupe mucho espacio y a la misma vez sirva como decoración, estas cajitas son perfectas. Esta es de West Elm. As I mention on the last post, I have not been able to buy new pieces for my closet to wear. However, during the holiday sales and amazing deals I had the amazing luck to find two bags from my absolute favorite brand. I found a Kate Spade Saturday bag which is in my last post and, this Kate Spade New York bag that was a christmas gift (yayyy me!). Since January started it's been super busy, I have been looking for a new apartment, working on new projects and plans I have, so many things so little time. 

This look is super cute and chic for the office, I think these heels are still my favorite from all the shoes I own. I cannot resist bows!!

Como mencioné en el post anterior no he podido comprar ropa nueva, pero durante las ofertas de navidad tuve la suerte de conseguir dos carteras de mi marca favorita. Encontré una Kate Spade Saturday que esta en el post anterior, y esta Kate Spade New York que fue un regalo de navidad (yayyy por mi). Desde que Enero empezó ha sido corre corre sin parar, he estado buscando donde mudarme, trabajando en nuevos proyectos y planes que he tenido, tantas cosas y tan poco tiempo.

Este look es perfecto para la oficina, creo que estos tacones son mis favoritos de todos los que tengo. No me puedo resistir a los lazos!!
